Nespresso Lattissima Coffee Maker Review

The Lattissima is the next step in Nespresso's one-touch brewing. It is able to brew espressos as well as lungo coffee in a minute or less and can be used with the company's wide selection of capsules.

It is also easy to program the machine to brew the exact size drink you desire. This is a wonderful feature for busy households.

Easy to use

This basic black Nespresso machine is simple to use and maintain. It is minimalist and simple in its design with a single button on top that controls everything from powering to washing to making coffee. Open the lid, insert the capsule inside and press to start making coffee. It is quick to heat up and offers a wide range of beverage options such as double espresso, or five, 8- or 18-ounce coffees. It comes with a steaming device to give a cafe-like feel to your drinks. While we love its simple interface and compact design, we found that the machine doesn't perform better than more expensive models in making rich coffee and espresso. It's also not as simple to recycle capsules as other machines we tested. This Nespresso wasn't the top pick in our side-by-side test due to these reasons.

Quick to brew

The Nespresso machine makes one cup of coffee in around 15 seconds. The heated water from a reservoir enters a pump that is able to penetrate the tiny holes in the top of the pod. It then mixes with the compacted ground coffee inside, and then drips into your cup. We tested the machine with Jones Brothers and Bestpresso capsules and it produced a rich and flavorful espresso with a slight nutty taste. We tried whole, almond and 2% milks and all worked well.

Easy to clean

It is essential to clean the Nespresso machine regularly, both inside and out. This will keep the machine in good working order and ensure its safety. This also improves the taste of your coffee. There are a variety of cleaning products to clean a Nespresso, including vinegar. However, it is recommended to make use of a descaling solution instead, since vinegar can cause damage to your machine.

To clean  nespresso machine with milk frother , begin by getting rid of all the pods, and then cleaning the drip tray and capsule container. Then, fill a sink or large bowl with warm water and add a few squirts dish soap. Let the drip tray and container soak in soapy water for a few minutes to loosen the gunk and stain. Rinse the drip tray and capsule container using hot water. Then you can use a nonabrasive fabric or sponge to clean off any stains or residues. After scrubbing the drip tray and capsule containers, rinse them again and allow them to completely dry before returning them to your machine.

After your machine has been cleaned then it's time to descale it. Follow the directions in your manual for a specific method. If not, you can make a DIY descaling solution by using white vinegar or citric acid. However, if you're using vinegar be sure to use white vinegar rather than apple or balsamic vinegar, since they are too harsh for this purpose.
